Congratulations to Vicky and Joe for their lovely wedding at Shustoke Farm Barns, Coleshill.
The day started brightly but sadly the rain clouds moved in and took most of the light I was hoping for. Still, we made the most of the breaks in the rain and managed to obtain many pictures of everyone – including an award winning image.
My thanks to Vicky and Joe for allowing us to be a part of their big day by taking the wedding photographs. Here are a couple from the day.
We had the great pleasure to photograph the wedding of Sally and Jason, who’s reception was held at the Casa Hotel here in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. The day threatened rain but thankfully we only had blustery conditions to deal with. Thankfully we used this to our advantage to obtain some creative veil shots with Sally.
The couple had organised some surprises for the guests, one being a wonderful old bus and the other was an evening with Elvis. The Elvis impersonator was truly exceptional and provided a wonderful evening’s entertainment – which we photographed to the full!
My thanks to Sally and Jason, and for asking us to finally put own the cameras and enjoy a “well deserved” beer with them.
Here are a few of the wedding pictures from the day:
I had the pleasure of being a part of the wonderful wedding of Charlotte and Adam at Hazelwood Castle earlier in the year. It was was a cold day but the low lying sun allowed us to get some wonderful wedding pictures, capturing the special moments
Here are some of the wedding photographs a cold but fabulous day…
I recently received this wonderful email from the mother of the bride. Wedding albums are timeless and always allow you to relive the wonderful wedding day…
Just want to say a huge thank you for the lovely parent album of Grace and Alex’s wedding.
You have made a fantastic job of it, and can’t wait to show everyone!
By the way the framed picture is taking pride of place on my living room wall.
The main wedding album and the parent album are shown below.
The forecast for the weather wasn’t great but there was only a slight chance of rain for the wedding of Grace and Alex at Birtsmorton Court. Happily, the grey of the sky dissipated as the morning wore on and almost perfect lighting conditions presented themselves by mid day – just right for wedding photography. I considered myself very lucky and looked forward to getting the wedding photographs of the couple.
Grace, her family and bridesmaids welcomed us at the pre-prep and we started our usual routine only this time a pair of videographers were also present. We were a little cramped but actually worked very well together and thus helped raise the energy level with the bride and bridesmaids – who did not stop smiling all day!
Lighting conditions within the church were not great for the ceremony itself but I am used to this and so approached the task with low-light lenses and settings. This made for some lovely emotional shots of the couple.
The reception and subsequent wedding photographs were a joy to capture in the grounds of Birtsmorton Court, where we had previously had the pre-wedding shoot.
My thanks to Grace, Alex and all who made us feel so welcome and for being a part of a wonderful wedding.

The evening do!
The day started much cloud and although ideal for wedding photography lighting we were hoping the weather would hold and perhaps become a little brighter for the wedding of Adrian and Maria and their reception at Keele Hall, Keele University. I had visited Keele Hall near Stoke On Trent previously for the pre-wedding shoot and was hoping for exactly the same conditions. Ably assisted by my second shooter for the day, Jeff Jones, we made our way to the home of Maria’s parents.
Our photography started with bridal preparation photographs with Maria, her parents and the bridesmaids and flower girl. Light levels were particularly low but we obtained a lovely set of pictures to start the day well. We then made our way to the church in order to give ourselves time to photograph the guests arriving and to capture the unique entrance that Adrian and the Groomsmen were going to perform.
The church was surprisingly bright and spacious allowing us to take advantage of different locations – which helped with the two entrances we then photographed!
Keele Hall as ever, proved a wonderful location for the reception and group pictures and we even managed to obtain some Hollywood style pictures in the evening – my thanks to Adrian and Maria for wanting to join in and enjoy this fun activity too.
It was a wonderful and long day of photography but well worth it as we obtained some truly unique wedding pictures.
Thank you Adrian and Maria!.
Here are just a few of the wonderful wedding pictures we took:
“I now pronounce you Husband and Wife…”
Congratulations to Lily and Dan on their wedding at Dartford, Kent. The weather was very much against us but we still managed to take the majority of the wedding pictures outside. The late evening sun provided some lovely light for us to get some pictures of Lily’s wedding dress and Dan’s dress uniform.
Congratulations to you both!
I recently travelled further afield than usual to take photographs for a pre-wedding shoot at the wonderful Birtsmorton Court in Worcestershire. It’s a two hour drive (for me) but well worth it as the location is simply stunning.
I met Grace and Alex in the afternoon and once again the weather was kind with not too much sunlight and plenty of shooting opportunities.
Both Grace and Alex were very comfortable in front of the camera and that gave me a wonderful opportunity to explore this venue in preparation for their wedding in September.
As a moated manor house the venue has an historic yet romantic feel and will lend itself wonderfully to the pictures I plan taking during the wedding celebrations. My thanks to Grace and Alex for agreeing to meet here. Below are just a few of the pictures I took.
A busy schedule has meant that I haven’t put up as many blog posts as I would like but I must mention a wonderful pre-wedding shoot at Keele University with a lovely couple.
I met Adrian and Maria last year and they agreed to engage me for their wedding. We arranged a date for a pre wedding shoot in order for us to get to know each other and to allow them to become used to having a camera taking photographs constantly. Right from the off, we got along wonderfully and this was definitely due to their very jolly personalities and easily noticeable love for each other.
The weather for the day started brightly with some clouds arriving later on but generally the light was great for our shoot and we spent a wonderful two hours exploring the lovely gardens of Keele Hall, where the wedding reception is going to be held.
Below are a few pictures we took on the day!
Allison and I were invited to the engagement party of Izzy Warren and Jake Green at Somerset House, a local venue in Chesterfield Derbyshire. Izzy and Jake are getting married next year and are busy ensuring all the preparations are ready for their wedding day.
The party was a lot of fun and we took many pictures of the revellers and children who seemed to have boundless energy! A sample of the pictures follow and the full gallery link can be found here (Izzy and Jake have the password):
Thank you for asking us Izzy and Jake!
