I meant to post a couple of pictures from the wedding of Briony and Thomas a while back. Now we have the nicer weather I thought I would add these two images to show the kind of wedding pictures you can capture when the sun makes an appearance through the clouds.
Briony looked fabulous in her amazing wedding dress and it was a pleasure to capture its fine detail on the day.
My thanks to you both for allowing us to take so many photographs during the day. Here are a few.

Our congratulations to Kathleen and Tony, married this month at the Olde House, Chesterfied, Derbyshire. This was another great wedding for us as apart from being my second shooter for the day, Allison was also the makeup artist for the bride.
The Olde House in Chesterfield is actually only five minutes drive away for us, making it a useful venue! The temperature on the day started warm and became warmer as the bright sun made an appearance early on. This meant harsh light for the out door shots, and the Olde House doesn’t have many shaded areas. Fortunately, the happy and obliging staff moved tables, chairs and benches for us so that we could take the wedding photographs of the couple, bridal party and guests. We took advantage of the sun as well.
My thanks to Katheen and Tony for asking us to photograph your wedding. Here are just two of the wonderful pictures we took.
A little earlier in the month I had the pleasure of shooting the wedding of Julia and Paul. For us this was a family wedding, so as photographers we had the privileged position of having front row seats all day 🙂. Allison assisted and between us we obtained many great shots at both St Oswalds Church and back at Oakwood Hall (Bradford). Thank you both for the wonderful two days and for asking us to shoot your wedding.
I received a gold award from the SWPP July competition. The image was entered into the street photography section and was part of a sequence I had created. I thought it would do well but was delighted when I received the notification that I had won gold. A good day!
Congratulations to Sam and Rich, married at the Thatched Barn at Great Farthingloe, near Dover. The weather was dry but really cloudy and thankfully the sun eventually broke through providing better lighting conditions.
Sam and her family were most welcoming when we arrived for the bridal-prep shots, and Rich and the groomsmen were equally ready for pictures when Jeff and I arrived at the Thatched Barn venue.
All the guests happily followed our lead when we came to take the formal pictures and for the first time we managed to get them all done in less than twenty minutes – resulting in praise from one of the guests!
Jeff and I enjoyed the fish and chips – which was a nice and novel change! As ever, Jeff Jones made the day an enjoyable one – especially obtaining the shot of the day while I slid down a bank after setting up a specific shot. All smiles afterwards – especially as Jeff captured the shot perfectly. Here’s one wedding picture from the day, captured just as the sun was breaking through,
Congratulations to Biba and Rikesh. Happily for the first time for me I had sunshine and cherry blossom to add a little colour to some of the pictures. These are some of the wonderful pictures I took earlier in the year at Harrow School. Thank you for the wonderful curry and the opportunity to take so many pictures!
Congratulations to Theresa and Martin for their recent wedding at the Dover Marina Hotel, in Dover Kent.
The day was overcast but at least there was little rain and all wedding guests enjoyed themselves. In the evening I took advantage of the lights from the docks and the ferries to provide some nice night time illumination for the evening pictures.
My thanks to Theresa and Martin for allowing Allison and I to take your wedding pictures!
Here are a few images from the day:
I am happy to report that for the second month running I have collected a highly commended award from the SWPP. This time the picture is in the architectural section. OK – so it’s not wedding photography this time but all images can inspire new ideas and the design of this building intrigued me.
I collected another highly commended award from the SWPP for this image from the wedding photography for Vicky and Joe’s recent wedding.
Update: the SWPP upgraded this to Gold award photograph during their annual review, I was both surprised and delighted when the certificate appeared in the post!
The gold award winning wedding photograph. Awarded by the SWPP (Wedding Reportage).
Congratulations to Vicky and Joe for their lovely wedding at Shustoke Farm Barns, Coleshill.
The day started brightly but sadly the rain clouds moved in and took most of the light I was hoping for. Still, we made the most of the breaks in the rain and managed to obtain many pictures of everyone – including an award winning image.
My thanks to Vicky and Joe for allowing us to be a part of their big day by taking the wedding photographs. Here are a couple from the day.
